Setting Up Tax Rates
Create and manage tax rates to apply to your quote line items.
Creating a tax rate
- Go to Settings → Quotes
- Scroll to the Tax Rates section
- Click Add tax rate
- Enter a name (e.g. "GST 10%") and the percentage (e.g. 10)
- Click Save
Applying tax rates
When adding or editing a line item in a quote, select the tax rate from the Tax dropdown. Tax is calculated per item and shown in the quote totals breakdown.
Setting a default rate
Mark one tax rate as the default and it will be pre-selected when adding new line items. Go to the ··· menu next to a rate and click Set as default.
Bulk-assigning rates to library items
If you change your tax rate or add a new one, you can update multiple items in your library at once:
- Go to Items
- Click Bulk assign tax rate in the toolbar
- Select the target rate and the items to update
- Click Apply
Zero-rated and exempt items
Create a tax rate with 0% to mark items as zero-rated. Leave the tax field empty on a line item for no tax at all.
Multiple tax rates
You can have multiple tax rates active at once — useful for businesses that sell both taxable and zero-rated goods, or that operate across different tax regions.
